Benigno Alarcón is the director of the Center for Political and Government Studies at the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Venezuela. He is one of the most recognized scholars in Venezuela and the region for his studies and the impact of his teaching on the subject of nonviolent action and democratic social change. Since 2006 he has devoted himself to research and training in nonviolent strategies, mainly in Venezuela. In this interview, Carlos Flores, editor of the En Movimiento blog and producer of the podcast series Relatos de la Resistencia Noviolenta, talks with Alarcón about his experiences and perspectives.
