Peer review
This journal employs a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers throughout the evaluation. All reviewers are independent from the Editorial Board and have no conflicts of interest with the submitted work. Each manuscript is evaluated by two reviewers.
Below is a detailed outline of our submission and review procedure:
1. Authors submit manuscripts to the Vietnamese Journal of Legal Sciences via email (editor.vjls@hcmulaw.edu.vn).
2. The Managing Editor assesses submissions for adherence to journal guidelines and standards. All submissions are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin prior to peer review. A similarity index above 30% (excluding properly cited quotations, references, and bibliographies) may lead to desk rejection or a request for revision.
Submissions that do not meet ethical, originality requirements, or relevance to the journal’s scope of research may be rejected without external review.
3. Accepted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by two independent reviewers, who evaluate the following criteria:
- Scientific and practical significance;
- Rigor and accuracy of the research, novelty of results;
- Integrity of the research;
- Style, structure, length, format, and adherence to journal guidelines.
4. Reviewers provide one of three recommendations:
- Acceptance for publication: Very minimal edits required.
- Revision required: The manuscript needs minor/major revision and resubmission.
- Rejection: Manuscript does not meet publication standards.
5. Authors are notified of the review outcome.
6. Approved manuscripts are compiled by the Managing Editor and submitted to the Editor-in-Chief for final decision on publication.
7. Manuscripts approved for publication undergo proofreading by the Editorial Secretary and staff to ensure content, language, style, presentation, and format adhere to journal guidelines. Edits are made both in print and online formats as needed.
8. Edited manuscripts are reviewed by the Editorial Board for final quality check and approval by the Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
9. Once approved, manuscripts are prepared in PDF format for printing and online publication on the journal’s website.
