Polish Journal of Medical Physics and Engineering is an official publication of the Polish Society of Medical Physics – PSMP (in Polish: Polskie Towarzystwo Fizyki Medycznej – PTFM). Founded in 1965, the PSMP is a National Member Organization (NMO) of the European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics (EFOMP) and the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP). There are more than 500 members of the PSMP. These include researchers connected to academic and scientific institutions, as well as medical physicists employed in hospitals. The PSMP works in close collaboration with national authorities and institutions that specialize in the medical applications of ionising radiation, offering its perspectives on draft legislation during public consultations. Working groups within the PSMP formulate recommendations regarding subjects such as radiological equipment quality control methods. Every two years, the Society's Congress is conducted. In non-congress years, the Society organises a School of Medical Physics. The Society's sections (radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and diagnostic imaging) meet once a year, and the regional branches also hold meetings in their own areas. For more information about PSMP and its current activities, visit the Society's website and Facebook page (in Polish).
