Aims and scope
Helmantica is a research journal covering everything related to the fields of classical and Hebrew philology. It began its journey in 1950 as the publication of the recently created Faculty of Classical Humanities of the Pontifical University of Salamanca. In 1974, this Faculty expanded the scope of its specialty, adding Hebrew Philology to Classical Philology. At the same time, it was reoriented to be a preparatory course for the Bible and Theology, and was renamed the Faculty of Trilingual Biblical Philology. As the publication of this Faculty, the journal appeared the following year, 1975, under the name Helmantica. Journal of Classical and Hebrew Philology. Its projection towards these branches of philology is clearly evident in each of its issues, which, with exemplary punctuality, reach our readers.
