Aims and scope
Online ISSN: 2300-7591
The primary version of the journal is the online one.
Fatigue of Aircraft Structures aims to advance knowledge and promote high-quality research in the field of aeronautical fatigue and structural integrity. The journal’s goals are to:
- Provide a platform for the dissemination of original research and innovative solutions in aircraft structures and materials.
- Facilitate the exchange of scientific knowledge between domestic and international researchers.
- Support the development of practical methods for fatigue life prediction, structural health monitoring, and damage-tolerant design.
- Encourage interdisciplinary approaches and the application of advanced materials and structural concepts in aerospace engineering.
The journal focuses on problems related to the fatigue and structural integrity of aircraft. Preferred topics include:
- Full-scale fatigue testing of aircraft and aircraft structural components
- Fatigue of materials and structures
- Advanced materials and innovative structural concepts
- Damage-tolerant design of aircraft structure
- Life extension and management of ageing fleets
- Structural health monitoring and loads
- Fatigue crack growth and life prediction methods
- Non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections
- Airworthiness considerations

Project description:
The aim of the project is to improve the quality of publishing and editorial practices and the visibility of the journal "Fatigue of Aircraft Structures" on the Internet. The area of development of publishing and editorial practices includes verification of all articles with an anti-plagiarism system, shortening the publication time of articles through publication "ahead of print", language correction with text adjustment, dissemination of information about the journal by identifying new groups of readers and authors in Poland and abroad, promoting the yearbook through call for papers activities and preparing a leaflet project and making it available during industry events. The above activities affect the quality of published works and interest in the journal among authors. The presented activities will contribute to increasing the journal's citation rate, which will increase its impact on the scientific community thanks to easier access to articles not only by keywords, but also thanks to connections between citing and cited objects (authors, articles, journals). All articles published in the "Fatigue of Aircraft Structures" annual have a DOI number, authors have an ORCID number, and the files are available open access under the CC BY NC ND license on the journal's website and in the National Library Repository.
