Colloquium is a peer-reviewed journal produced by ANZATS (The Australia and New Zealand Association of Theological Studies Ltd). The journal serves as a platform for scholarly discourse in theology and religious studies, fostering interdisciplinary engagement among scholars in Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. It aims to provide a place for world-class theological conversations focusing on issues that engage with local and contextual theology for and around Asia-Pacific.
Colloquium was first published in May 1967 by the College of St John the Evangelist, New Zealand, but has been published under the auspices of ANZATS since the founding of The Australian and New Zealand Association of Theological Schools Ltd in 1968. ANZATS was renamed in 2017 to reflect the broadening of its focus to individual and institutional aspects of theological education. ANZATS comprises the university theology programs, theological colleges, and seminaries of Christian churches in Australia and New Zealand, together with individual members of the Association.
Colloquium is published in May and November each year. In 2025, it moved to an online publishing model to enable wider access, including those without formal institutional affiliations. Colloquium welcomes papers from various perspectives including anthropology, biblical studies, church history, ethics, education, feminist theology, practical theology, science and theology, systematics, world Christianity and missiology, and more.
