The international scientific journal Acta Technologica Agriculturae (ATA) is dedicated to publication of scientific papers in engineering, agricultural and biological sciences and materials.

The author is fully responsible for the originality of the paper and formal correctness. The paper and its content must not be published previously elsewhere. The submission of a paper implies an undertaking by the author not to submit it simultaneously to other publications. The Board of Editors decides on the publication of papers, taking into account the scientific importance, peer reviews and manuscript originality, scientific quality and length. Original scientific papers are published in the English language. Papers must be written in good English.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Please use

British English;
Calibri 12 pt throughout the manuscript;
extent: scientific papers should not be longer than 18 standard pages A4 with double line spacing 2.0 (before: 0 b, after: 0 b), including tables and figures; shorter papers will also be considered;
margins: top 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, right 2.5 cm, left 2.5 cm;
page numbers: do not number your manuscript;
line numbers: line numbering should be used throughout the manuscript.

PAPER STRUCTURE

Title. Short, brief and concise information on the paper content.

Author names and affiliations. Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author. Present the authors' affiliation addresses where the work was done below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lowercase superscript number immediately after the author's name and in front of the address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation and the e-mail address of each author. The corresponding author should be identified by the sign ^*.

The manuscript should be divided into the following sections:

ABSTRACT,
KEYWORDS,
INTRODUCTION,
MATERIAL AND METHODS,
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION,
CONCLUSION,
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS,

Abstract. Please provide an abstract of 150–200 words. It should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references. The abstract should be divided into the following sections:

Background and Aims (stating the main purposes and research question),
Methods,
Results (stating the main findings),

Keywords. Please provide 4–6 keywords at the end of the abstract to be used for indexing purposes. They should start with lowercase letters and be separated by semicolons.

Introduction. It should afford a review of related works and information concerning the state of research of relevant issues. Related references are recommended. The introduction should not be divided into subunits. It is recommended to include references to papers from peer-reviewed periodicals only.

Material and methods. All preliminary material, experiments conducted, their extent, conditions and course should be described in detail. This section should consist of subunits describing equipment, methods, and procedures. It is necessary to provide readers with enough details of methods and equipment to enable the described procedure to be repeated. When methods are not original, adequate references are recommended. Statistical processing methods, including the software used, should also be listed.

Results and discussion. Results should be presented briefly in tables or figures. The author should confront partial results with data published by other authors. Provide enough data to give reasons for conclusions. The same information should not be given in different forms (tables, graphs, text). In discussion, there is necessary to emphasise the importance of findings and to compare the information obtained with existing knowledge, if possible.

Conclusion. It is necessary to mention briefly the most important results presented in the paper, the key points of following research and experimental work, and recommendations for use in practice.

References. The list of references should be numbered and arranged alphabetically. Only papers cited in the text must be included in the list of references. More than one reference from the same author in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication. Citing reference in the text should be given in the author–date style, e.g. single author (Surname, 2025), two authors (Surname and Surname, 2025), three and more authors (Surname et al., 2025). Et al. stands for 'et alii'. It does not have a period after 'et' and does have one after 'al'. All non-English document titles must be translated into English (with the original language stated afterwards in brackets).

ABBREVIATIONS AND UNITS

Acronyms and abbreviations should be used sparingly, in which case the full name should be written out the first time it occurs in the paper, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. It is not advisable to use any abbreviations in the paper title or in the abstract.

The decimal marker is a point (0.5 m), while the thousand's separator is a comma (10,000).
Use commas to separate thousands for numbers with five or more digits (10,000); do not use commas to separate numbers with four digits (5000).
To express a unit of measurement, insert a thin space between the number and the unit (5 g; 20 ha).
Use kg∙m^-3 instead of kg/m³.
Per cent. With figures, use the percentage sign (%) preceded with no thin space (25%).
Multiplication sign. Change points used as a multiplication sign to '×' (2.5 . 10⁵ becomes 2.5 × 10⁵).
Degree sign. The degree sign in temperatures should be preceded by a thin space (25 °C).
In research and academic writing, it is always recommended to avoid contractions (e.g. aren't, don't, isn't). Contractions are common in informal text, but not in formal texts.

Figures

Refer with Figure 1, Figure 2, etc. Figures should be presented as part of the text. The caption should be placed below the figure. For the best quality, pictures should have a resolution of 300 dpi. Use a capital letter to refer to figures in the text (Figure 1).

TABLES

Refer with Table 1, Table 2, etc. Tables should be presented as part of the text. A descriptive title should be placed above each table. Units in tables should be given in standard brackets (meV). Abbreviations or symbols used in tables must be explained as a footnote below the table. Use a capital letter to refer to tables in the text (Table 1).

Equations

Refer with Eq. (1), Eq. (2), etc. There should be one line of space above the equation and one line of space below it. Equations must be editable (equation editor in Microsoft Word). For mathematical expressions that must be embedded in text, use the equation editor only when you cannot create the expression using standard word-processing functions. For example, expressions such as 5.5 × 10⁸ can be created in Microsoft Word using superscripting, subscripting and symbols. Equations should be aligned to the left margin and their numerical designation to the right margin.
