She is particularly interested in phenomena of pragmatics and enunciation, such as acts of disagreement and refutation, polyphony markers, and including rhetoric, expressions of ethos and axiology. Many studies focus on the function of negation in the debates of French presidential campaigns. Malin Roitman has edited the collective volume The Pragmatics of Negation: negative meanings, uses and discursive functions (2017) and co-edited three more books on the pragmatics of political discourses.
