Myth, Materiality and Lived Religion

Klas Wikström af Edholm is doctoral student in History of Religions at Åbo Akademi University. His current research focuses on the occurrence of human sacrifices in Old Norse religion.

Peter Jackson Rova is Professor of the History of Religions at Stockholm University. Among his recent publications are the two edited volumes Transforming Warriors: The ritual Organization of Military Force (with Peter Haldén) (Routledge 2016) and Philosophy and the End of Sacrifice: Disengaging Ritual in Ancient India, Greece and Beyond (with Anna-Pya Sjödin) (Equinox 2016).

Andreas Nordberg is Associate Professor of History of Religions at Stockholm University, and archaeologist. His research focuses on religion in ancient Scandinavia.

Olof Sundqvist is professor of history of religions at Stockholm University. He has recently published the book An Arena for Higher Powers: Ceremonial Buildings and Religious Strategies for Rulership in Late Iron Age Scandinavia and is currently preparing a monograph entitled The Demise of Ancient Scandinavian Religion.

Torun Zachrisson is Associate professor in Archaeology at Stockholm university and Head of research at the County museum of Uppland. She is currently publishing articles on material aspects of pre-Christian religion and social change in Iron Age Scandinavia.
