Karin Carlsson, PhD, is a historian at Stockholm University. In 2014, she defended her dissertation The Temporary Housewife, in which she examined the economic and social value of home and care work. Her research interests revolve around welfare issues, gender and materiality and focus on the kitchen as a space and place. In 2020, she came out with the book Kvinnosaker. Rebecka Lennartsson is an associate professor of ethnology and works as research manager at City Museum with responsibility also for contemporary documentation and exhibition production. She is particularly interested in issues of urban history, gender, power and sexuality and has previously researched Stockholm's regulated prostitution and commercial sexuality in the 18th century city. Her most recent publications are Mamsell Bohmans fall and Ulla Winblad. Liv och legend. In addition to the project Gendered Spaces, she leads the project City faces. Visual culture and social structure in Stockholm 1870-1930.
