Donald E. Morse, Honorary Professor, University of Debrecen and Emeritus Professor, Oakland University, has been four times Fulbright Professor, Soros Professor and Rockefeller Study Fellow. He has published twenty books including It’s Time: A Mosaic of What Living in Time Is Like (2nd ed. 2026), The Novels of Kurt Vonnegut (2003), Anatomy of Science Fiction (2006) and Irish Theatre in Transition (2015) and over one hundred peer-reviewed essays and book chapters, translated several Hungarian plays with Csilla Bertha including Silenced Voices: Hungarian Plays from Transylvania (2008), lectured widely in Europe, the US, and Asia, chaired the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts for 35 years, hosted “Bloomsday in Detroit” for 25 years, and edited the Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies since 2007 and HJEAS Books since 2020. Among his honors are the László Országh Medal, the Hungarian American Fulbright Medal, the Lifetime Achievement Medal of the Humanities Faculty University of Debrecen, the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts Collins Award and the College English Association Distinguished Service Award.
