Reaching its 22st Edition, this year’s International Conference on Economic Issues – New Challenges – EINCO 2025 will take place on 28-30 May 2026, in Oradea, Romania.

EINCO 2026 intends to further provide the framework for relevant scientific debates focused on the challenges faced by the contemporary economic issues with reference to both the framework specific to Romania, as well as the general framework of the latest European and International policies and practices. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged on topics in the economic field, but also related to fields such as sociology, artificial intelligence, psychology, political science, etc.

Academic research papers, post-doctoral research or PhD research papers, case studies and work-in-progress are welcomed. Each paper will be subject to a double-blind peer reviewing process.

EINCO 2026 provides international opportunity for scientific discussion and collaboration on the broad range of relevant areas associated to recent trends in the field of Economic Sciences.

Keynote speakers

Prof. Abdolkarim Sadrieh, PhD, Full Professor, Chair of E-Business at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg

Prof. Dr. Karim Sadrieh is Professor of Business Administration and holds the Dean of Faculty & Chair of E-Business at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany. He earned his Ph.D. summa cum laude from the University of Bonn, where he worked at the Laboratory for Experimental Economics under Nobel Laureate Reinhard Selten.

Before joining Magdeburg in 2004, he held a tenured position at Tilburg University. His research bridges experimental economics, game theory, and behavioral economics, with applications in market design, e-commerce, and strategic decision-making. He has been ranked among Germany's top 250 business researchers in the Handelsblatt Lifetime Achievement Rankings and has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals."

Valentin Ionescu – Director of the Insurance Conduct Supervision Directorate within ASF and President of the Institute of Financial Studies.

He has worked for 18 years in various private companies in Romania and abroad, in the field of investments in the capital market. He has held at ASF the position of Director General of Insurance (2021–2025), and Director of the Strategy and Financial Stability Directorate. He also held the posts of Director of the Integrated Supervision Directorate (2013–2014) and Director of the Insurance Authorization and Regulation Directorate (2017–2019). His professional activity also includes positions such as Director General of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, board member at Sibex and SIF Moldova (2012–2013), and President of the Central Depository’s Board, as well as international experience – Euro Invest Bank GmbH Austria (Head of Sales, 2009–2010) and Wood & Co, Czechia (Senior Sales Trader, 2007–2009). Mr. Valentin Ionescu graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies, Faculty of Commerce; he holds an MBA from CNAM Paris, a master's in enterprise development from ASE and Georgetown University, and postgraduate studies in “Finance and Banking.” He is an active member of various ESMA and EIOPA committees. He graduated from the Aspen Institute, and at the Joint Vienna Institute he completed courses in “Financial Sector Surveillance” and “External Vulnerabilities and Early Warning Exercise.” He has published articles and opinions in various national and international publications and has been interviewed by Bloomberg on several occasions.

Prof. Marcel-Ioan Boloș, PhD, Full Professor of Finance, University of Oradea, Faculty of Economic Sciences

Professor Marcel-Ioan Boloș is a distinguished figure in Romanian academia and public service, currently serving as a Full Professor PhD. Habil. at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Oradea. He holds doctorates in both accounting (2005) and management (2007). Professor Boloș's extensive scientific contributions include authoring 7 specialized books, publishing over 50 articles (with 28 in ISI-ranked journals and 30 indexed in BDI), and holding two patents for invention/copyrighted original works. His research interests visible through his publications span areas like computational intelligence, fuzzy sets, and the optimization of financial and investment decisions. He has also been significantly involved in numerous projects funded by structural funds, reflecting a practical application of his expertise.

Beyond his academic achievements, Professor Boloș Marcel has a significant background in public administration. In the present, holds the position of Director General of ADR Nord Vest. He has held several high-level governmental positions, including Minister of European Investments and Projects (December 2024-November 2025, November 2019 - December 2020 and April 2022 - May 2023), Minister of Finance (June 2023 – December 2024), and Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digitalization (January 2022 - April 2022).
