RETRACTED: Improving the Health of the Nation Through Transdisciplinary Community Engagement
Abstract
This article was retracted on January 5, 2024 by the Executive Editor of the Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (JCES). On January 3, 2024, a reader contacted JCES via email with concerns about possible plagiarism. The reader provided credible evidence of misconduct. After an investigation, these allegations were verified and determined to be legitimate. The article contained a significant amount of verbatim and closely paraphrased text that had previously been included in an earlier, multi-author report published by the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy. The full citation for that report can be found below. The Executive Editor contacted the author with the evidence of plagiarism, and the allegation was not disputed by the author, who cited an honest error due to not fully understanding the norms of an academic, scholarly journal. The decision was made to retract the article. This process was informed by resources that are available from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
