Initial neurological evaluation. Examination using the optokinetic band reveals abnormal optokinetic response, especially in vertical plane with slow smooth pursuit movements and absent saccades. Parinaud’s vertical palsy is observed when the patient is told to switch his gaze from one direction to another. Finally, eye movements are preserved with doll’s head maneuver.
