MRI: T1 images show patchy hyperintense signal in the bilateral caudate nuclei, right greater than left, but no enhancement post contrast. T2 and FLAIR imaging revealed similar heterogenoushyperintense signal within the caudate nuclei and both hippocampal gyri (lower panels). Diffusion weighted imaging and ADC imaging revealed no evidence of associated ischemia.
