Abstract
With the new management model for the Federal Administration, the Federal Council wishes to expand target and results-oriented public management. The pivotal point is the budget and integrated medium-term plan. The administrative units receive global budgets and set out their services in a transparent manner. The article shows the pragmatic approach for further developing public management, which succeeds without any upheaval in terms of policies and administration and seeks to make targeted use of 20 years‘ experience of reforms.
