Abstract
A few years after the definite introduction of outcome-oriented public management in Canton Aargau, the members of the parliament of Canton Aargau commissioned an evaluation of this administrative reform, placing a particular focus on its political accountability. The mandate also encompasses an inter-cantonal comparison concerning this question. This paper discusses the aforementioned evaluation. The results of the evaluation were positively received by the involved. Members of the parliament of Canton Aargau and the governing council are now revising the identified weaknesses and aim to develop and improve outcome-oriented public management.
