Abstract
[The Textometer: A Tool for the Study of the Structure of a Discourse and its Marking: B. Psychometric Characteristics and Application]
In a former article, we introduced a new tool for the study of the subjective structure of discourse: the textometer. It allows judges to indicate in a analogical way the entire structure of a text. In this second paper, we present an experimental study which shows the psychometric characteristics of the textometer (intra- and interjudge agreement) and the possibility to quantify small local variations of the perceived structure. The results of this experiment highlight the effect of connectors on the subjective structure, supporting recent views about the textual role of these linguistic devices.
