Abstract

WRF-bLES-Pyplume (PyPlume) is a generalized python-based library that has been developed to automate the computations of the plume characteristics, mean state, and turbulence characteristics of the plume and flow fields using the data generated from the bplume-WRF-LES model [4]. The implementation of the Pyplume framework for idealistic and realistic boundary conditions have been presented in this manuscript. Details of the model development, model formulation, and model implementation and the Pyplume software in python are presented. A Case study for the release of heated Co2 plumes into the neutral atmosphere is presented. The LES data, Pyplume generated data and the Pyplume library are available on github. The Pyplume library is compatible for all versions of WRF-LES and the library can be used to extract the turbulence fields to conduct an analysis of data generated by WRF-LES.
