Abstract
This article describes a data set of ten manually annotated short mystery stories. The annotation schema, including all tags and their application rules, is fully detailed in Heyns and Van Zaanen (2024). The annotation provides information on the narrative elements found in the texts. Each story is segmented and annotated on a narrative and scene level plus genre-specific tags: acts, detective thoughts, and clues using CATMA. The data is available in TEI XML and CSV formats. This data set provides structured narrative data for computational analysis, enabling tasks in story segmentation, plot structure analysis and genre studies while supporting automated processing.
