Abstract
This dataset was collected during a survey exploring the use of Automatic Text Recognition (ATR) in cultural heritage institutions. The anonymised dataset, stored in the British Library Repository, investigates how ATR has been integrated into digitisation processes in cultural heritage, including tools, standards, and broader considerations such as ethics and sustainability. The data can be reused for comparative studies on the role of ATR in different institutions and periods. The dataset has limitations: the use of English for the survey questions, the channels used to publicise it and the existing relationships of the British Library.
