Abstract
Summary (Core aim of the workshop): The overarching aim of this workshop is to provide knowledge about, inspire, and generate insights on potential careers paths within the field of integrated care. It also aims to discuss issues related to and if there is a need for innovative roles, positions and careers that can contribute to the implementation and development of person-centred integrated care to maximise the health, wellbeing and independence of people, families, and communities. In this workshop, participants will be able to listen to and discuss with a wide variety of senior panel members about future prospects, lessons learned, potential career paths and opportunities in the field of integrated care.
Background: Although the integrated care movement is evolving and growing stronger, early career professionals and researchers find it challenging to navigate their professional development and struggle to establish a career and position that contributes to the field's development.
Aims and Objectives: The main aims and objectives of the workshop are to:
- Inspire and explore future prospects in the field of integrated care
- Draw lessons from experts in integrated care
- Provide knowledge on how to shape your career and what opportunities are out there
- Discuss potential career paths and opportunities in integrated care
- Network with others in the field
Target audience:
This workshop is designed for emerging researchers and professionals in integrated care, but anyone interested is welcome to participate and contribute to the discussion.
Facilitators / speakers (names and roles): Facilitators: Sebastian Lindblom, Mark Derks, Liliane Rocha, Paul Wankah. Panel members will be invited to speak and represent different roles within the field, i.e., researcher, policy and decision-maker, health and care professional, and manager/leader.
Format (timing, speakers, discussion, group work, etc): The format of the workshop will include a mix of presentations and discussions. The four panel members will present a descriptive and inspiring talk about their career paths, including lessons learned, practical tips and future prospects. The workshop will begin with a 5 min introduction. Each panel member will be assigned 10 minutes to speak. The following 40 minutes will be allocated for an open question and answer session to invite workshop participants to discuss with panel members. The workshop facilitators will lead and facilitate the discussion and promote an including and open discussion. The workshop is rounded off with a 5 min summary and conclusion.
Key Learnings/Take away: The participants will gain knowledge about the opportunities and future prospects that the field of integrated care can offer. The workshop will further inspire participants and provide ideas to advance and develop on the journey towards establishing as a professional and researcher within integrated care.
