Abstract

Occupational stress is an increasingly common problem, having a significant impact on employee health and organiza tional performance. The causes of stress are varied, from overwork, tight deadlines, lack of collegial or managerial support, to inadequate working conditions and lack of work–life balance, factors that not only affect employee morale and productivity but can also lead to physical and mental health problems. This article aims to analyse this issue from the perspective of employees, studying the level to which they are aware of this phenomenon as a barrier to their professional well-being, also seeking to identify appropriate measures, which could be reflected in positive effects on the health of the organization as a whole. Through exploratory research conducted on a sample of 208 respondents, this article explores the causes of stress at work, analysing the link between stress, individual well-being in the organization, and organizational performance, emphasizing the importance of adopting an integrated approach in managing this phenomenon.
