Abstract

The aim of this article is to investigate the impact of pocket parks (further PP) created as part of the participatory budget (further CB) on the quality of urban areas undergoing revitalization in Lublin. The research addresses the issues of revitalization and citizen participation in the budgetary process. Furthermore, it presents the influence of greenery on human well-being and the concept of pocket parks, taking historical context into account. Selected areas and their quality before and after the implementation of PP are subjected to comparative analysis. The research employs qualitative criteria for landscape quality according to Jan Gehl, incorporating improvements in protection, comfort, and enjoyment, supplemented by three criteria of self-valuation. The research findings are presented in a chart and summarized in a table. Mapped locations of parks, considering their pedestrian accessibility within a 260-meter radius, serve as a starting point for further investigation. The research aims to establish relationships between individual PP and existing green areas (further GS).
