A Philosophical Analysis of Identifying the Key Challenges Impeding the Development of the Lgbtq Community in Sri Lanka

Abstract

LGBTQ is a community that exists in our society. The sustainability and well-being of this community are crucial for Sri Lankan society's sustainability. In present Sri Lankan society, the LGBTQ community has been seen as an obstacle to sustainable development due to its differential treatment. Accordingly, the sustainable development of the LGBTQ community in Sri Lanka is a multi-faceted and philosophical issue that requires a deep understanding of the challenges within. Accordingly, it is necessary to initiate sustainable development by socializing rights research policies in the sexual orientation of the LGBTQ community. Nowadays, the challenges of that journey have grown significantly. The purpose of this research is to identify the main challenges that hinder the sustainable development of the LGBTQ community in Sri Lanka. This research is based on empirical study. For that, both primary and secondary methods were used to obtain the data. Research is based on empirical study. The sustainable development goals of the LGBTQ community can be identified in the areas of good health and well-being, gender equality, development of education, development of peace and justice and economic growth. The research identified that the achievement of the stated goals has not been effective due to the discrimination of the LGBTQ community in the society. Accordingly, it can be socialized as a proposal of the research that it should be a national responsibility and mission to identify the goals and concurrent challenges for the sustainable development of the LGBTQ community in Sri Lanka and to take steps to bring about a sustainable development of the LGBTQ community in Sri Lanka and can also be analyzed as a timely approach that can be used for Future research.
