By: C.S. Sureshwara
Abstract
The play Maname is a creation that showcases the prominent features of Sri Lankan theatre. The female traits portrayed by the princess in Maname reflect characteristics common to Asian women. Notably, the role of the princess in Maname represents her mental state as being in a schizophrenic condition. This paper explores the psychological schizophrenic state faced by women and the factors influencing it.
