Exploring Challenges and Opportunities in Sri Lankan Courier Services

Courier services are essential to global commerce, particularly in Sri Lanka, where the growth of e-commerce has increased the demand for efficient logistics. However, the sector faces several challenges, including infrastructure inadequacies, delivery delays, and logistical complexities. This qualitative case study, focusing on Alpha Courier Services and based on interviews with seven managerial-level respondents, explores three key themes: operational challenges, innovative service offerings such as green logistics and flexible delivery options, and opportunities within the e-commerce sector. The study aims to provide insights into overcoming these challenges and leveraging opportunities to enhance courier services, helping Alpha Courier Services adapt to the evolving logistics landscape in Sri Lanka.
