බුදුන් වහන්සේ භාවිත කළ ඉගැන්වීම් ආධාරක නූතන අධ්‍යාපන ක්‍රියාවලියට යොදා ගත හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳ අධ්‍යයනයක් - A Study on the Possibility of Using Buddha's Teaching Aids to the Modern Education Process

In the current teaching and learning process, a special trend of using teaching and learning aids can be seen all over the world to successfully bring about the expected learning outcomes from the student. Before modern learning aids became popular, in the Buddha's philosophy of education, teaching and learning aids were utilised for successful teaching around the 6th century B.C. The main purpose of this research is to study how the teaching and learning aids used by the Buddha can be applied to the modern education process. The specific objectives of the research are to introduce teaching-learning aids, identify Buddha’s teaching aids and study how those teaching-learning aids can be used in the modern education process. For this, context analysis under the qualitative research methodology  was used. The main teaching aids used by the Buddha are natural environments, special materials related to the occasion, demonstrations of certain incidents such as movies, etc. As the special features of those teaching-learning aids can be recognized as using an available substance or event. It is used in a way that suits the diversity of individuals; and it requires no effort and no cost to prepare. Such aids are exemplary of the modern educational process. The use of natural objects outside the classroom, the use of school materials, the use of recordings appropriately to the occasion, the use of prepared materials before the learning event, and the creation of events and  situations can also be used as teaching aids in modern education. It can be concluded that teaching-learning aids used by the Buddha, are appropriate for use in the modern teaching and learning process.
