Abstract

The short story, ‘The Tell Tale Heart’ written by Edgar Allan Poe, is gifted with a wide range of non canonical sentences. The objective of this study is to analyze the types of non-canonical sentences of the story. The research problem centers on identifying the distinctive sentence patterns in the text. Given the lack of previous studies on the sentence structures in this story, the findings could offer valuable insights for aspiring writers engaged in literary work. A limitation of this study is its exclusive focus on non canonical sentence structures. The research adopts a qualitative and quantitative methodology and aims to explore sentence structures beyond traditional grammar, reflecting their unique nature.
