වැඩ ලෝකය සඳහා අ.පෙ.ස. (උ/පෙළ) විෂයමාලාවේ දායකත්වය - Contribution of GCE (A/L) Curriculum for the World of Work

After formal schooling, only a very small percentage of students who appear for Advanced Levels gain university admission for higher education. Only a small percentage of the rest of the students go to other professional institutes and the majority of the rest of the students go directly for job opportunities. Since the past, various programs have been prepared focusing on the world of work through the educational reforms implemented in this country in different periods. Although some programs are not successful up to the expected level, they are being continued in the education system, and some programs have failed due to various reasons.
At a time when the nature of demand in the current job market, new eforms in the education system related to technology and vocational education, the relationship between the job market and the education system, the attention of educators should be more focused by this study. (A/L) Curriculum is primarily focused on contribution to the world of work. By that, the current G.E.C. The aim of this study is to identify if there is any gap between the (A/L) curriculum and the world of work and to make recommendations and suggestions on the next steps that can be taken to bridge the gap. It will also help in providing constructive input in future curriculum revisions.
