Impact of Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices on Triple-Bottom-Line Performance of Manufacturing Sector in Sri Lanka

This study focuses on identifying how sustainable supply chain practices impact Triple-Bottom-Line performance in the manufacturing sector in Sri Lanka. Moreover, the moderating effect of institutional pressure on the relationship between sustainable supply chain practices and triple-bottom-line performance was investigated. This study was carried out as a survey study and data was gathered using a structured questionnaire from relevant top managers in 100 large-scale manufacturing companies. Furthermore, data was analyzed employing PLS-SEM software. Results confirmed the significant positive impact of sustainable supply chain practices on triple-bottom-line performance. Further, findings clarified that the relationship between sustainable supply chain practices and triple-bottom-line performance is significantly moderated by institutional pressure i.e., regulation pressure and supply chain pressure. This study makes a novel contribution to our understanding of large-scale manufacturing companies by confirming the significant relationship between the considered independent and dependent variables, as well as the moderating effects of institutional pressure on the studied relationship.
