Benign recurrent intrahepatic cholestasis (BRIC): a rare diagnostic challenge

Benign recurrent intrahepatic cholestasis is a rare familial cholestatic disorders with occasional sporadic incidence. It presents as recurrent episodes of obstructive jaundice and pruritis without any obstruction in the biliary system with perfectly symptom free period in between. Here we present a 35-year-old male with recurrent episodes of jaundice from the age of 20, eventually being diagnosed as BRIC after extensive evaluation.
