Peritoneal deciduoid mesothelioma: a rare variant of epithelioid mesothelioma in a young man
Abstract
Deciduoid mesothelioma is a rare variant of malignant epithelioid mesothelioma. Diagnosis of deciduoid mesothelioma is very challenging especially in settings with limited resources. It morphologically overlaps with many other malignancies showing epithelioid morphology. We report a case of deciduoid mesothelioma occurring in a previously healthy 35-year-old-man. The clinical, morphological and the immunohistochemical features that aid in its diagnosis are discussed.
