
High HONO atmospheric concentrations during vegetation burning in the tropical savannah

Abstract
Using a denuder technique, high HONO concentrations (up to 1 ppb, for 12 h average) were observed at night in the Venezuelan savannah region during the vegetation burning period. The levels in the rainy season were always below 0.05 ppb. It is likely that HONO is directly emitted from the fires.
