The Simultaneous Oscillation of Barometers along and near the Equator

Abstract

Oscillations of surface pressure which, within the observational error, occur at the same time over very large oceanic regions, have been described by Frolow in the tropical Indian Ocean and the Caribbean. Similar oscillations in the equatoral Pacific are reported and the widespread, presumably planetary, extension of the pressure variations emphasized. Statistical investigation suggests that simultaneous falls of pressure along the equator are associated with solar disturbances.
