Abstract
This paper describes differences in numerical 500 mb prognoses, using the barotropic model, which result from different analyses of the same initial chart. Three synoptic cases are investigated, comparing the results of using routine analyses made by the Deutscher Wetterdienst, Frankfurt, Germany and the Royal Swedish Air Force Weather Service, Stockholm, Sweden.
