The Exact Determination of the Effective Domain of Dependence of a One-dimensional Numerical Prediction Formula

Abstract
By assuming sinusoidal initial conditions, an exact expression for determining the “cut-off” point of a one-dimensional influence function is derived. From this result one may construct tables of percent error incurred by terminating the influence function at various distances.
