Abstract
A symposium was held September 1–4, 1953 at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland to discuss the problems and potentialities of models in investigations of geophysical phenomena. About 25 research workers in the fields of oceanography, meteorology, aeronautics, geo-magnetism, civil engineering, and applied mathematics attended the conference. Fifteen papers were presented followed by discussions.
