A statistical-hydrodynamical approach to problems of climate and its evolution
Abstract
As an alternative to computing many long numerical integrations of a set of model equations, we explore here a statistical-hydrodynamical method of calculating the equilibrium statistics of an ensemble of atmospheric states, with fixed but arbitrarily prescribed external conditions. The purely mathematical problems are solved or solvable, and the remaining numerical calculations are within the capacity of existing computing machines.
