Abstract
The lunar semidiurnal atmospheric tide L2(P) is determined to a high level of significance at station Gan in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
The behaviour of the analysed data from Gan and other oceanic stations, when compared with both the world-wide pattern of the oceanic M2 and atmospheric L2(p) tides, can be explained in terms of a marked oceanic tidal effect on L2(p).
