Abstract
A numerical model of the Norwegian Sea is developed with the vertical structure modelled by two moving layers. Both the coastline and topography are represented by the finite difference formulation. From such data as is readily available, a preliminary study is made of the relative effects of topography, wind-driving and interaction with the surrounding sea areas in determining the large-scale circulation of the Norwegian Sea.
