Estimates of the seasonal variation of the general circulation from easily identifiable features
Abstract
Estimates of the seasonal variation of the zonal wind component and the eddy flux of relative angular momentum in the terrestrial atmosphere were made from the motion of cyclones and anticyclones. It is found that the estimates are in reasonably good agreement with the direct measurements over most latitudes.
