
Electric conductivity of rain water in the cloud over the island of Hawaii

Abstract
On the basis of observations by means of radiosonde equipment utilizing a rain water collecting funnel and an electric conductivity cell, it has been found that the electric conductivity of rain water in a cloud decreased with increasing height above the cloud base over the Island of Hawaii during the summer in 1965.
At the ground very near to the cloud base, the variation of the electric conductivity of rain water with respect to time during a shower was observed for each size of raindrop by means of raindrop spectrographs.
