On the question of mesoscale patterns in the sea surface temperature field in the tropical Atlantic
By: C. L. Jordan
Abstract
The space variability of sea surface temperature, as indicated by observations from individual merchant ships and research vessels, is considered in investigating the question of the existence of mesoscale patterns in the sea surface temperature field in the tropical Atlantic. This approach offers strong evidence that mesoscale patterns are considerably weaker than those indicated in an article previously published in this journal.
