Determination of the stream function from vertical motion

Abstract
By means of the solution of the linearized equation for the vertical components of the vorticity, the stream function is estimated using the data for the vertical motion. The exact method for solving the finite-difference analogue of the differential equation by spherical coordinates is discussed.
