Abstract
“Selvon and Me,” a personal essay in vignette form, explores themes of grief, belonging, reading in the Caribbean and writing from its Diaspora as what Selvon called “a Caribbean expatriate.” The journey begins with a road trip to see a stage adaptation of Sam Selvon’s A Brighter Sun at the Naparima Bowl in Trinidad.
