Abstract
The ECJ ruling of March 19, 2026, on the German railroad pricing system 2025 has far-reaching effects on the practice of railroad pricing and could lead to a realignment of financing and pricing in German rail transport. The authors advocate a new, transparent and EU-compliant pricing system that takes better account of regional rail transport.
