Abstract
Pension systems are constantly being reformed and adapted to changing conditions. In research and political debates on pension policy, different welfare states are often compared. Austria, for example, relies on comprehensive, strong social security, while Sweden relies more on capital-funded pension insurance. However, in order to learn successfully from other countries, it is also necessary to understand the framework conditions and one’s own norms.
