Využití korelaèních měření při regulaci katodické ochrany / The use of correlation measurements for controlling of cathodic protection

Abstract
Cathodic protection of buried metallic equipment hasbeen widely used for line structures. At present, it constitutesa major source of stray currents for other buried equipmentthat is not interconnected with cathodic protections, which maylead to serious corrosion attacks. The correlation technologyhas been used in the operation of electric polarized drainageand automated saturation for more than 40 years. The authorof this paper used the technology to control the level ofcathodic protection by means of an interconnection unit placedbetween insulated steel gas- and water-ducts. It has beenproven by the measurement results that the application of thecorrelation technology to control cathodic protection was appropriate. The measurements may be executed practically onall interconnection units installed so far. Moreover, the measurementrequirements do not exceed the scope of the existingmaintenance.
