Abstract

This paper presents the results of the laboratory research concerning assessment of the quality of sowing Czerwona Kula beetroot seeds by means of S071 Kruk seeder. The research showed significant influence of the seeder operating speed on the quality of sowing, expressed in percentage of single, double and skipped plants. The most regular dosage of seeds in a row was obtained at the seeder's operating speed of 0.6 m·s-1 and sowing disk's peripheral speed of 0.6 m·s-1. Increase of the seeder operating speed above 0.6 m·s-1 caused deterioration of the beetroot seeds distribution in a row. Thus, it can be concluded that the seeder operating speed significantly affected the quality of Czerwona Kula beetroot sowing.
